টেলিলিংক গ্রুপের নতুন প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা হিসেবে নিযুক্ত হয়েছেন ডা. সাকিরা নোভা। তিনি এই দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের পাশাপাশি দেশের একটি বিশ্বমানের মলিকুলার ল্যাব, ডায়াগনস্টিকস অ্যান্ড কনসাল্টেশন সেন্টারে কনসালটেন্ট হিসেবে চিকিৎসা সেবা প্রদান অব্যাহত রেখেছেন। এর আগে তিনি লন্ডন স্কুল অব হাইজিন এন্ড ট্রপিক্যাল মেডিসিন এবং মিনিস্ট্রি অব পাবলিক হেলথের যৌথ প্রকল্পে আফগানিস্তানের কাবুলে “টেকনিক্যাল সাপোর্ট স্পেশালিস্ট” হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন। এছাড়াও তিনি বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থায় দীর্ঘদিন কাজ করেছেন।
ডা. সাকিরা নোভা একাধারে একজন বিশেষজ্ঞ চিকিৎসক, গবেষক, উপস্থাপক, লেখক এবং সংগীতশিল্পী। শৈশব থেকেই সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির সাথে নিবিড়ভাবে যুক্ত নোভা। টানা এক যুগেরও বেশি সময় ধরে তিনি চ্যানেল আই, এটিএন বাংলা, এটিএন নিউজ, একুশে টিভি, এসএ টিভি, দেশ টিভি, এশিয়ান টিভিসহ বিভিন্ন টেলিভিশন চ্যানেলে স্বাস্থ্য বিষয়ক অনুষ্ঠান উপস্থাপনা করেছেন। এছাড়াও সিঙ্গাপুরের মাউন্ট এলিজাবেথ হাসপাতালে ধারাবাহিকভাবে হেলথ শো করেছেন, যা এসএ টিভিতে সম্প্রচারিত হয়েছে। দেশে ও বিদেশে তার শৈল্পিক উপস্থাপনা তাকে সুখ্যাতি এনে দিয়েছে। বর্তমানে তিনি মিলিনিয়াম টিভি ইউএসএতে সংবাদ উপস্থাপক হিসেবে কাজ করছেন। পাশাপাশি সময় সুযোগ পেলে বিভিন্ন টেলিভিশন চ্যানেলে সঙ্গীত পরিবেশনাও করেন তিনি।
ক্রীড়াঙ্গনেও ডা. সাকিরা নোভার অবদান উল্লেখযোগ্য।
তিনি বাংলাদেশ অলিম্পিক অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের মেডিকেল কমিটির সাবেক সদস্য এবং বাংলাদেশ অলিম্পিক অ্যাসোসিয়েশন কর্তৃক স্পোর্টস মেডিসিনে উচ্চতর প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য নির্বাচিত হন। ইন্টারন্যাশনাল অলিম্পিক কমিটি কর্তৃক স্বীকৃত বাংলাদেশের প্রথম নারী স্পোর্টস মেডিসিন এক্সপার্ট তিনি। এছাড়াও তিনি বাংলাদেশ ফুটবল ফেডারেশনের মেডিকেল কমিটির সাবেক সদস্য এবং টিম ফিজিশিয়ান হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন। বিভিন্ন জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক টুর্নামেন্ট এবং ক্যাম্পে ক্রীড়াবিদদের ফিটনেস সার্টিফিকেট প্রদান এবং সরাসরি মাঠে চিকিৎসা সেবা দিয়ে আসছেন তিনি। ভারতের কলকাতায় আয়োজিত আন্তর্জাতিক নারী ফুটবল প্রতিযোগিতায় নারী ক্রীড়াবিদদের চিকিৎসা সেবা প্রদানের জন্য পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য ক্রীড়া পর্ষদ তাকে সম্মাননা জানিয়েছে।
সামাজিক কাজেও ডা. সাকিরা নোভার সম্পৃক্ততা রয়েছে। রোটারিয়ান হিসেবে তিনি দেশের দরিদ্র ও অসহায় মানুষদের পাশে থেকে নিয়মিত সহযোগিতা করে চলেছেন। কিশোর-কিশোরীদের প্রজনন স্বাস্থ্য নিয়েও তিনি কাজ করেছেন। নেপালের কাঠমান্ডুতে এ বিষয়ে একটি কি-নোট পেপার উপস্থাপন করেন, যা নেপালের পত্রিকা “দি হিমালয়া”তে প্রকাশিত হয়।
ব্যক্তিজীবনে ডা. সাকিরা নোভা দুই পুত্র সন্তানের মা। তার রুচিশীল ব্যক্তিত্ব ও বহুমুখী প্রতিভা তাকে অনন্য করে তুলেছে। সম্প্রতি তার লেখা কবিতার বই “উইমেন হু আনডিফিটেড” চলতি বইমেলায় প্রকাশিত হতে যাচ্ছে। এই বইটি তার সাহিত্যিক দক্ষতার আরেকটি স্বাক্ষর বহন করবে বলে আশা করা যায়।
Dr. Shakira Nova has been appointed as the new CEO of Telelink Group. In addition to taking up this responsibility, she continues to provide medical services as a consultant at a world-class molecular lab, diagnostics and consultation center in the country. Earlier, she served as a “Technical Support Specialist” in Kabul, Afghanistan, in a joint project of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the Ministry of Public Health. She has also worked for various international organizations in Bangladesh for a long time.
Dr. Shakira Nova is an expert physician, researcher, presenter, writer and musician. Nova has been closely associated with literature and culture since childhood. For more than a decade, she has presented health-related programs on various television channels including Channel i, ATN Bangla, ATN News, Ekushey TV, SA TV, Desh TV, Asian TV. She has also conducted a series of health shows at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, which have been broadcast on SA TV. Her artistic presentation has brought her fame at home and abroad. She is currently working as a news anchor at Millennium TV USA. She also performs music on various television channels when she gets the chance.
Dr. Shakira Nova’s contribution in the field of sports is also notable.
She is a former member of the Medical Committee of the Bangladesh Olympic Association and was selected for higher training in sports medicine by the Bangladesh Olympic Association. She is the first female sports medicine expert of Bangladesh recognized by the International Olympic Committee. She is also a former member of the Medical Committee of the Bangladesh Football Federation and has served as a team physician. She has been providing fitness certificates to athletes in various national and international tournaments and camps and providing medical services directly on the field. The West Bengal State Sports Board has honored her for providing medical services to female athletes in the international women’s football competition held in Kolkata, India.
Dr. Shakira Nova is also involved in social work. As a Rotarian, she has been supporting the poor and helpless people of the country regularly. She has also worked on adolescent reproductive health. She presented a keynote paper on this topic in Kathmandu, Nepal, which was published in the Nepalese newspaper “The Himalaya”.
In her personal life, Dr. Shakira Nova is a mother of two sons. Her interesting personality and versatile talent make her unique. Her recently written book of poems “Women Who Undefeated” is going to be published in the current book fair. This book is expected to bear another signature of her literary skills.
